The basic concept of treating all people with respect simply because they are made in the image of God are are deserving of respect not because of anything they have done but because God has seen fit to let them live in his world. Those who are in darkness deserve a double-portion of love because they are truly pitiful and they do not even know it. Young ones find it extremely difficult to ignore the norms of the world and follow the path of enlightenment because we all want to be liked and we all want to fit in. We (older/mature christians) must help them find the narrow path which leads to everlasting life but is barely traveled; and avoid the pitfalls and lure of the broad way which is filled with so many people who seem to having a great time.
